Emma lawson / scottish wedding &
I love photographing weddings and people and I still pinch myself daily that I get to do this job. I'm so thankful to every single couple and family who let me in, trust me and allow me to capture a moment in their lives. I shoot all types of weddings, from castles to backyard marquees to elopements in the Scottish Highlands, even the odd destination wedding in the sun. From 200+ guests to just the couple, I love them all. It's sounds like a cliché but two weddings really are never the same because people make weddings and each group of people create a different day.
I'm also a portrait photographer, specialising in newborn & babies and maternity & motherhood sessions. I have photographed hundreds of babies, even babies being born. My approach is authentic and documentary in style, I photograph women and families in their own homes, creatively and honestly.
When I'm not doing that, I'm a mum to Myles and Ottilie and BBF to Glenn (baby daddy + husband of 16 years). Without Glenn there would be no Emma Lawson Photography. It was his encouragement and support that allowed me to give up my day job and follow my dreams and that's why, 10 years later I am doing what I love, every, single, day. Thanks Glenn and thanks lovely people who pay me to take pictures.

THE JANUARY PROJECT
I never shoot weddings in January, it's my month off and I use it to recharge. I also do this, it's a photo-a-day project where I photography my own children. Mostly candid but there is the odd portrait thrown in which I probably had to bride them to let me take.
doin' it for the gram.
