No awkward posing, I promise.
I’m there to tell the story of your day, and because no two weddings are ever the same, that story is always different. Most of the day I’m creatively documenting everything as it happens and around 90% of what I shoot is candid, undirected and unposed. My aim is to capture atmosphere of your wedding, it’s all about you and your guests, the real moments and all the fun and emotion. I know how important the details are too and I pay special attention to documenting all your little touches. For your couple portraits, it’s totally relaxed and there is no awkward posing involved, we’ll just go on a short walk and I’ll capture you interacting. We won’t be gone long though, I completely understand how important it is to enjoy your day with your family and friends.

I’m yours all day
What’s a story without a beginning or an end and all the bits inbetween? thats why I am with you from morning preparations right through to the dancing.
I shoot a maximum of 30 weddings per year, that allows me to give every single wedding bags of energy and loads of creativity. If you would like to read some feedback from some of my previous couples you can do that here.
Suppliers I love
I’m lucky enough to get to work with some of the best wedding suppliers in Scotland, if you need recommendations for a videographer, florist or any other supplier, you can view my list of favourites here.
want to chat?
The 2017/18 diary is open and I would love to hear from you.
something to have and to hold
Getting all of your images digitally is great and super handy, but having something to hold in your hand and keep forever is pretty nice too. That’s why your final images will be available by digital download and sent to you on a USB.
frequently asked questions
Where are you based and do you travel?
I’m based in Aberdeenshire and Glasgow and cover the whole of Scotland and sometimes beyond.
What equipment do you use and do you have back-up equipment?
I shoot with a canon, a 5d mark3 and a 6d with various lenses. I’m a natural light specialist, shooting mainly with prime lenses. I generally only use flash for the dancing. I have back-up equipment too.
how long do you photograph for on the wedding day?
From morning prep right through to the dancing. What’s a story without a beginning and an end and all the details in-between.
HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHS WILL WE GET?
You will receive at least 500 high-resolution photographs on a USB in a keepsake wooden display case and each image is individually retouched by me.
Can we make our own prints from the digital files you give us?
Of course, you have full printing permission for personal use, you just can’t sell them to hello magazine.
How can we secure our date with you?
£400 secures the date, if you would like to book I will send you a contract and invoice.
When do we get to see our final images?
Every single one of your images are edited and retouched by me, and will be available via an online gallery within 6-9 weeks. Your USB will be mailed out shortly after.
do you take formal group shots?
Of course, I suggest having no more than 6-8 as that takes about 20-30 minutes and you don’t want to miss the canapés. [/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end]
how long do our couple portraits take, we don’t really like having our picture taken?
You’re not alone, most of my couples don’t relish the thought of being in front of the camera. Your couple portraits are very relaxed, we’ll just go on a short walk and you’ll chat and I’ll take some lovely pictures of you being yourselves. Usually this takes 20 minutes. Short and sweet and no awkward posing I promise.
Should we have a second shooter/photographer?
I’m more than happy to shoot your wedding alone but I suggest that couples who are getting married at multiple venues or have 80 or more guests consider adding a second shooter. With a second shooter involved, both sets of morning preparations get covered equally and you get lots more candid images of your guests. It’s not an essential but a nice to have.
What if it rains?
Try not to worry about the weather… you can’t control it! If it rains, you’ll get some great atmospheric rainy day shots! Investing in some wedding umbrellas is a great idea, if it rains you want to be under something that matches your day and not whatever can be produced at short notice.
Do we order a meal for you at our reception?
Yes please, I work 10-12 hours at most weddings so a hot meal would be lovely.
Do you have insurance?
Sure do, for both my equipment and public liability.
Do you do albums?
Yes, beautiful leather bound fine art ones, the kind that makes people ooh and ahh!
Can we buy prints?
Yes, your online gallery has a print ordering service.
